The unique properties of this design lie in the pattern of the carpet, which resembles the explosion of a falling meteorite. The use of glass as windows enhances spatial dialogue, and the simple vertical body, streamline ceiling, and granite texture visually interact with each other through mirrors.
The design is realized using materials such as granite, iron construction, enhanced glass, wood, and stainless steel plates. The total area of the design is 132 square meters.
The space design aims to create a relaxing atmosphere, achieved through the use of simple vertical and horizontal elements to outline the screen and cabinet at the entrance, as well as a black, luxurious background that highlights the texture of the granite wall behind the television.
The Milky Way Living Space was designed by Yu Ming Chang and completed between December 2017 and April 2018. The design was inspired by inclined top cladding, spatial imagery, time and space sense, and the appearance of the Earth. The design overcame challenges related to customer needs and connected spaces through geometric streamline design.
This design was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2019. The Iron A' Design Award recognizes well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. It is respected for integrating industry best practices and competent technical characteristics, providing fulfillment and positive feelings, and contributing to a better world.
